It’s probably obvious that the proper food packaging can
result in a high level of sales for the manufacturer of food products. Studies show that customers prefer boxes,
bags, jars and cans that aren’t difficult to open. With the current impact modernization is
having on Mother Earth, it’s also very important for food production companies
to consider sustainable packaging. However,
there’s another important reason for food to be packaged in a certain way and
that is food safety.
Food safety is of the utmost important when it comes to food
packaging. In recent years, there have
been some ideas on how to reduce the likelihood of food poisoning. The only problem is that many food companies
are not compliant with it because they don’t want to risk hurting their
sales. The idea is to include a “return
to fridge” sticker on certain products that are known for making people sick
after being left out. Some of these
products include condiments such as ketchup, salsa, yogurt and pickles. Milk is one of the foods that causes the most
cases of food poisoning when left out for too long.
There are many conditions that can result from food
poisoning including Clostridium Perfringens, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, and
Bacillus Cereus, to name a few. These
are all serious conditions that affect millions of people every year. The average person simply forgets about the
importance of food safety. However, for
some, they are completely unaware of its cruciality.
If companies were
willing to implement that “return to fridge” stickers, we might just see less
and less cases of these conditions.
